01 / THE PROBLEM

Cleaning businesses run thin. Staff leave, jobs are cancelled at short notice, and extra help is needed the moment demand spikes — yet finding reliable subcontractors nearby, quickly, is slow and manual. KleenHire’s core problem is closing that gap: turning cover into something a business can get on demand, from cleaners close by.

Who it affected: Cleaning businesses needing reliable cover, and independent cleaning subcontractors in Greater Sydney.

02 / PRODUCT APPROACH
01

MVP & early validation

Launched in December 2025 and won the first paying customers within three months.

02

Narrowing the market

Refocused on independent subcontractors in Greater Sydney, who can serve many businesses and stay active.

03

Mobile for engagement

Built iOS and Android apps so cleaners can respond quickly to urgent work.

04

Emergency Backup

Let subcontractors opt in as backup for urgent jobs; about half of the network opted in.

05

Acquisition & pricing tests

About A$300 in Meta ads brought 30–40 subcontractors, while testing short-term access and monthly pricing.

04 / THE RESULTS

KleenHire grew into a focused workforce product with about 125 registered cleaners, and its apps have been live on the App Store and Google Play since September 2026. The next challenge is earning repeat use from cleaning businesses.

05 / LESSONS LEARNED

“Product-market fit needs continuous validation.”

“Narrowing the target market can strengthen the product.”

“Build features for recurring customer problems.”

“Business economics shape product strategy.”

KleenHire taught me that launching is only the beginning. Customer behaviour, operational constraints and market feedback should keep shaping product decisions, and I prioritise based on evidence rather than a fixed plan.
